Venus in Pisces in the 5th House (House of Pleasure)

Pisces says how Venus shows up; the 5th House says it happens in romance, creativity, play and children. Put the two together and you have the placement as it sits on a chart.

You fall in love with what you imagine is there

Put a Pisces Venus in the house of Pleasure and romance becomes an act of imagination. You see what somebody could be, what they are underneath the way they behave, the whole possible version of them, and you fall for that with complete sincerity.

Sometimes you are right and the person grows into it. Often you have constructed somebody who was never available, and the disappointment that follows is not really about them. Check the actual person against your picture at three months, deliberately, since you will not do it by accident.

Imagination arriving without being summoned

Images, ideas and whole scenes turn up in you unbidden, and your creative work is largely a matter of catching them rather than producing them. That is a genuine gift and it is unreliable by nature. Keep something to write on within reach at all times, since what is not caught does not return.

Play with nothing at stake

Competition drains rather than excites you, and what restores you is unstructured and slightly aimless: music, water, wandering, making something with no purpose. That is a legitimate way to enjoy yourself. Stop agreeing to other people's idea of a good time, since the version that actually works for you is available and simply never proposed.

Devotion offered before it is earned

Once you are interested, you give a great deal very quickly: attention, effort, the benefit of every doubt. It is generous and it arrives before the other person has demonstrated anything. Hold some of it back for a season, not as a strategy but because the people worth it will still be there and the others reveal themselves.

With children, a world rather than a schedule

Around children you supply imagination, patience and a willingness to take their inner life seriously, and children adore you for it. What you find harder is the structure: the times, the limits, the routine. Make sure somebody is holding that, since the imaginative half works far better on top of a predictable frame.

Fall for the person who is actually there

Your imagination supplies a version of somebody within about a fortnight, and you will then relate to that version for as long as it holds. Ask what they have actually done, over time, rather than what they seem to promise. It is an unromantic question and it is the one that would have saved you the last two.

You are the one people confide in

Friends bring you the things they would not tell anybody else, because you receive them without judgement and without repeating them. It is a real gift and the traffic runs one way. Say something difficult to one of them first, since your friendships have almost no mechanism for you to be the one being listened to.

Making something out of the inner life

There is a great deal happening inside you and very little of it has ever taken an external form. That is the whole opportunity here. Choose one medium and produce something in it regularly, however badly, since an imagination with no outlet turns into daydreaming and an imagination with one turns into work.

The making costs more than you have counted

Materials, lessons, instruments, somewhere to work: whatever you make carries a running cost and you have been treating it as incidental rather than as a line in the budget. It is not incidental. Price a whole year of it once and then defend that figure the way you defend the rent, because this is what keeps you fit to be around.

The pleasant thing you disappear into

There is usually something enjoyable that doubles as a way out: the screen, the drink, the story you can vanish inside for six hours. The enjoyment is entirely genuine and so is the vanishing, and only you can tell which one is happening on any given evening. Ask what you were avoiding just before you reached for it, since that answer is the whole of the useful information available here.
