Your professional life has an unusual shape
Your working history is not a shape anybody would have designed. Mars in Aquarius in the 10th house aims your independence at public standing, so what you have built is genuinely yours and does not map onto any recognised path.
The sign is why the route was invented and the house is why it happens in view. That gives you a reputation for originality and a permanent explaining problem, since institutions assess against a template and yours has never matched one.
The organisation defended its defaults
Everywhere you have proposed a better arrangement, the resistance turned out to be structural rather than personal, because institutions protect what they already do regardless of who is proposing the change. Knowing that alters the whole approach and stops you reading the pushback as being about you. Sell it in their vocabulary, cost it properly, and secure one senior sponsor first, because renovators with air cover change buildings and the ones without change employers.
Authority you did not want and use well
Positions arrive at you because people trust somebody who is visibly not playing the usual game, and you tend to accept reluctantly and then be unusually good at it. Notice that pattern rather than declining the next one on principle. The reluctance is genuine and it has never once predicted the outcome.
Years ahead, and consequently early
You adopt things before the field does and are proved right on a delay of about three years, by which point somebody else is being credited. Timing is the whole problem and it is partly solvable. Put the argument in writing, dated, and circulate it. Being early is only valuable if the record shows when.
A career that has to be described, not listed
Nobody can tell what you do from a job title, and the list of roles does not add up to anything a stranger would recognise. That costs you opportunities that never reach you. Write one sentence explaining the through-line, and use exactly that sentence every time rather than improvising a better one.
Find the sponsor before you propose anything
Your proposals are usually right and they fail on politics rather than on merit, every time, in every organisation. That is a solvable and entirely separate problem. Before raising anything structural, get one senior person to have heard it privately and be willing to say something. Nothing else you could change would improve your success rate as much.
Paid least at the point you were most right
The work where you were years ahead of the field was done for ordinary money, and the value arrived to somebody else later. That is the recurring financial shape of your career. Where you can, take equity, credit or a documented claim rather than a fee, because the fee is the one form of compensation that cannot appreciate.
Known by the people two fields over
Your reputation is strongest among people slightly outside your discipline, because that is where an unusual approach is legible rather than threatening. That is a genuine asset and it is entirely uncultivated. Make three contacts a year in adjacent fields, deliberately, since that is where your next role is most likely to come from.
Nobody at home can explain your job
Your family describes what you do inaccurately, and has for years, because you have never given them a version that would survive being repeated. That costs you nothing directly and it does leave a gap where interest would otherwise be. Supply one sentence they can actually use, and expect to be surprised by how much it is.
Dissent has a running cost
Being the person who disagrees, in public and repeatedly, carries an overhead that no individual episode would explain and that accumulates as a background tiredness you will put down to workload or to the season. It is neither. Find one person who holds the same position and talks to you about it regularly, since the load halves immediately and nothing else about the situation has to change at all.
