A belief has to survive being tested

The result is unusually honest. Your views are held with a precision most people never bother with, and they change when the evidence does, which makes you rare and occasionally exhausting in an argument.
Study taken as far as competence
You do not read about a subject, you learn to do it: the qualification, the practical hours, the standard somebody else would recognise. Half-knowledge makes you uncomfortable. That thoroughness is why what you know is genuinely reliable, and it is worth putting somewhere other people can reach rather than keeping as a private accomplishment.
Travel planned in unreasonable detail
The research, the timings, the arrangements checked twice: your journeys work, and nobody else in the party has any idea how much of that was constructed. The spreadsheet exists and you have never shown it to anybody. Leave one day of any trip entirely unplanned, since the parts you remember afterwards are almost always the ones nothing was arranged for.
Accepting what you have not checked
Faith of any kind is difficult for you, not from cynicism but because your instinct is to verify, and some things cannot be verified in advance. That has kept you out of a few situations worth being in. Try one thing on somebody else's recommendation this year, without research, and treat the discomfort as the exercise.
You teach a method rather than a subject
What you actually pass on is how to do something properly: the sequence, the check, the reason it is done that way. Students who want inspiration find you dry and those who want competence never forget you. Choose the second group deliberately, because with them your teaching is worth more than anybody else's.
You research it before you act on it
Faced with any question about how your body is running, you read, compare and reach a considered view, often a better one than the first opinion you were given. That diligence is a genuine asset. Where it turns against you is at the point of decision, so set a date by which the reading stops and something gets done.
You want to know it, not to believe it
The satisfaction you are after is understanding rather than certainty: how it works, why it works, what the exceptions are. That appetite has organised your whole life and it will not be satisfied by any conclusion. Keep one question permanently open, since for you an unfinished enquiry is not a failure but the actual condition of being interested.
The credential is worth getting properly
In your case the formal qualification pays, because your competence is real and the market cannot see it without a label. You have generally regarded that as an insult to the work. Take the certification you have been dismissing, since it costs a year and removes a ceiling you have been under for considerably longer.
You are the one people check things with
Friends bring you claims to verify: the article, the advice they were given, the thing somebody told them. It is a compliment about your judgement and it is also a lot of unpaid research. Answer briefly and send them the source, because the habit of doing the whole enquiry for people is what makes it endless.
Shared standards matter more than shared interests
What makes a relationship durable for you is agreeing on how things should be done rather than on what to do: punctuality, honesty about money, whether a job gets finished. Differences of taste are survivable and differences of standard are not. Watch how they handle one small obligation early, and take the answer seriously.
