Flirting is the game, and you are good at it
What you love runs Gemini-quick and it goes to work in the 5th house, so courtship arrives as banter. The pleasure is in the exchange itself: the reply that lands, the joke returned better, the conversation that both of you know is about something else entirely.
This is why the pursuit can be more enjoyable to you than the arrival. Once everything has been said plainly the game is over, and a certain restlessness turns up that has nothing to do with the person. Keep some play in it on purpose and the restlessness never gets a foothold.
Many beginnings, all of them genuinely good
Your creative output is a field of first chapters: the notebook, the half-recorded thing, the project abandoned at the interesting stage. Each one was real and each was dropped the moment the problem stopped being novel. Finish two a year rather than reforming yourself entirely. Two finished things annually is a considerable body of work by the end of a decade.
Play has to be clever to count
Games, puzzles, argument for its own sake, anything with a trick in it: these restore you where physical or purely sensory recreation does not. You are not lazy, you are specifically entertained by cleverness. Choose your leisure accordingly instead of persisting with things you have been told are relaxing and have never once actually enjoyed.
Attracted to whoever is quickest in the room
Wit does more for you than beauty, kindness or reliability, at least at the start, and you have occasionally followed somebody sharp into an unpleasant year. The filter is not wrong, only incomplete. Add a second question after the first fortnight: quick, yes, and also what are they like when nothing amusing is happening.
Children as company, not as a project
With children you talk to them like people, answer the difficult questions properly and find their company genuinely interesting rather than merely obligatory. Children notice this immediately. What you find harder is the repetitive part, so trade it where you can, and take the conversations as your actual contribution rather than as the fun bit around the edges.
Keep something unsaid, on purpose
You tend to say everything, quickly and well, and then find that there is nothing left to discover. A little reserve is not dishonesty here; it is pacing. Hold one thing back to be told next month rather than tonight, and notice how much longer the interested phase lasts when the supply of new material is rationed slightly.
The one who makes the evening funny
In any group you are the source of the running joke and the reason people are still there at midnight. That role is enjoyable and it is also a place to hide, since nobody asks the person doing the entertaining how they are. Stop performing once a night, with one person. It changes the whole evening, and usually for the better.
Enjoyment is not a thing you have to earn
You are unusually good at having a nice time and slightly suspicious of it, so a lot of your pleasure gets framed as research, networking or something otherwise useful. Drop the justification. The capacity to enjoy an ordinary afternoon is one of the more valuable things you have, and dressing it up as productivity slowly ruins it.
Small pleasures, frequently, add up
Your spending is not extravagant so much as constant: the coffee, the book, the ticket, the small thing that made an hour better. Individually each is trivial and the annual total surprises everybody who works it out. Do work it out once. Not to stop, but to decide knowingly which of the small pleasures are actually worth what they cost.
Fun is how your body gets moved
Exercise as discipline lasts about three weeks with you. Exercise as a game, with other people and something to win, lasts for years. Stop trying to acquire the temperament of somebody who enjoys repetition, and choose the version with novelty and company built in, which is the only kind you have ever actually kept doing.
