Flirting and arguing come out of the same voice
The house of Communication is the ground your Aries Venus stands on, so affection here travels by mouth and it travels quickly. You say the interested thing while everybody else is still working out whether to. Your warmth is verbal, immediate, and slightly startling to be on the receiving end of.
That makes ordinary exchanges livelier than they strictly need to be. A message from you arrives with an opinion attached. The people who like you like you for exactly that, and the ones who do not tend never to get past your first paragraph.
The compliment that arrives before you edit it
You tell people what you think of them in real time, which is rarer than you realise and disarming when it happens. Nobody who has spent an hour with you leaves wondering whether they were interesting. The unpolished version has more force than the considered one, so resist the urge to improve it afterwards. A retracted compliment is worse than a clumsy one.
Disagreement is one of your courtship displays
You come alive against a good opponent. Being contradicted well is genuinely attractive to you, and contradicting somebody is one of the ways you signal interest, which confuses roughly half the people it is aimed at. Say the quiet part when it matters: that you argue with people you rate. Otherwise your best material reads as hostility to anyone raised in a gentler house.
You learn by starting, never by preparing
New subjects hook you at the moment of first contact and lose you around the point where somebody produces a syllabus. You will have a working grasp of a language in a fortnight and no intention of reaching the grammar. Treat the fortnight as the unit. Three enthusiastic fortnights a year genuinely add up, and pretending you will ever do the four-year version only stops you starting.
Brightest within about five streets
Your daily radius is where a lot of your pleasure lives: the walk taken at pace, the shopkeeper who now saves you the good one, the neighbour argued with cheerfully about parking. You give a small area more energy than it expects. When life goes flat, the repair is usually local and physical rather than large and considered, so change the route before changing the plan.
Fast to know, slower to be known by
You are easy company from minute one, which means people feel close to you long before you have told them anything. The imbalance goes unnoticed for years and then surfaces as somebody hurt that they were not told something. Offer one real thing per friendship, unprompted. It costs you almost nothing and it converts a large number of acquaintances into the few who would actually turn up.
Say the interested thing, keep saying it
You will state your interest early and clearly, then assume it has been logged permanently. Nobody logs anything permanently. The relationships that work for you are the ones where you keep narrating, briefly and often, because your natural setting is declaration rather than maintenance. Three sentences a week beats one grand statement a year, and it is far less effort than you fear.
With siblings you are the one who says it
In sibling and cousin territory you are the one who names the thing everybody has been carefully not naming, usually at the table, usually cheerfully. It clears more than it breaks, though rarely on the day. Give the person one private warning before the public sentence. The information lands the same and you keep the relationship you were trying to be honest with.
Paid for the pitch, not for the paperwork
Your professional edge is live: the room persuaded, the client won in one meeting, the explanation that finally lands after three written attempts failed. Roles that judge you on documentation make you look mediocre at something you are excellent at. Steer towards the spoken end of any job, and get the follow-up written by somebody who enjoys it or done by you within the hour, while it is still hot.
A dozen beginnings, and one thing carried
The pattern here is many starts, which is not a flaw so much as an engine with no gearbox. What changes the arithmetic is choosing one subject to keep restarting for a decade instead of a fortnight. You will still lose interest repeatedly. Coming back to the same thing after each loss is the whole trick, and it turns your scatter into something with a name.
