Venus in Aquarius in the 5th House (House of Pleasure)

Aquarius says how Venus shows up; the 5th House says it happens in romance, creativity, play and children. Put the two together and you have the placement as it sits on a chart.

It starts as friendship, and you mean it literally

The 5th house is where your Aquarius Venus goes looking, and what it finds first is a friend. You are drawn to somebody you enjoy talking to, and the romance arrives afterwards as a development rather than as the point of the exercise.

This means you are almost immune to conventional courtship. Being pursued makes you uncomfortable and grand gestures leave you unmoved, while somebody who is interesting, unbothered by you and clearly their own person will occupy your attention indefinitely.

Attracted to whoever breaks the pattern

What catches you is the person who does not fit: the unusual job, the opinion nobody else holds, the life arranged in a way you had not considered possible. Conventional attractiveness barely registers. Trust the instinct and check one thing, which is whether unusual is all they are, since novelty on its own does not sustain anything.

Creative work as an experiment

What you make is an attempt to see whether something will work, and you are more interested in the question than in the finished object. That produces genuinely original results and a great many unfinished ones. Show the experiments rather than waiting for a resolved piece, since the interest is in the attempt and you have been hiding it.

Playing without any competition in it

Games with winners bore you and collaborative, inventive, slightly ridiculous activity does not. That is a specific taste and it is easily overridden by other people's idea of a good time. Propose your version, since a surprising number of people are relieved to be offered something other than the standard arrangement.

Children treated as people from the start

You explain things properly to children, take their opinions seriously and are not much interested in obedience for its own sake. Children respond to that with real trust. What they also need is a predictable structure, so make sure somebody is supplying it, since your instinct is to negotiate rather than to establish.

Do not mistake unusual for compatible

Your attraction to people who break the mould is genuine and it is not by itself information about whether you can live with somebody. Ask the ordinary questions after the first month: are they kind, do they do what they said, is being around them restful. Interesting has never once answered any of those.

The family shape does not have to be the usual one

Whether you have children, when, and what the household around them looks like are questions you have considered from first principles rather than simply assumed. That is unusual and it can put you at odds with relatives who never had to think about any of it. Say what you decided and why, once, since the assumption otherwise is that you have merely not got round to it yet.

Your friends are an assortment

The people you enjoy have almost nothing in common with each other, and you are the only thing connecting them. Bringing them together is one of your genuine pleasures and it works more often than it should. Keep doing it, since the collisions produce a surprising amount of what later happens in their lives.

Making the thing nobody asked for

What you produce tends to have no obvious audience and no existing category, which is why it is worth making and why it is so easy to abandon. Finish one of them properly and put it where people can find it. The category usually turns up afterwards, and it does not turn up at all for work that stayed private.

You underfund your own enjoyment

Spending on pleasure feels frivolous in a way that spending on ideas and equipment does not, so your enjoyment tends to be subsidised out of whatever is left. Reverse the order once. Take the money for something purely enjoyable off the top and notice that nothing important goes unfunded as a result.
