Other people redecorate, you take out walls
Most people adjust a home in small increments over decades. You leave it exactly as it is for years and then change something structural. Uranus in Taurus is shared weather across a span of birth years; the fourth house is your particular address for it, which here means the literal one.

The place is never quite finished
There is always a project: something being replaced, improved or done properly at last. It is genuine work and it also means the house is permanently a site rather than a home. The cost lands on whoever lives there with you. Declaring one room finished, and refusing to touch it for a year, is a smaller commitment than it sounds and changes the atmosphere of the whole place.
The permission to live somewhere imperfect
What you will not do is settle into a place that has faults you could fix. The unfixed thing sits in your attention until it is dealt with. Living for a full season with something visibly wrong, deliberately, is the exercise here, and it teaches you something about how much of your comfort has been contingent on the house being correct.
Ground that is genuinely yours
What builds over time is rare and worth naming: a physical base that you chose, altered and know from the foundations up, rather than one you inherited or accepted. Very few people have that. It is worth deciding what it is for, since a home built with this much intention should be doing something more specific than housing you.
The property question that divided everybody
Somewhere in the family there is a house, a piece of land or an inheritance that caused a lasting split, and you were probably on the unpopular side of it. Your reasoning was sound and it did not help. Keeping one relationship separate from the property question, deliberately and permanently, is worth more than winning the argument ever was.
Security is a thing you can stand on
Your sense of safety is physical rather than financial or emotional: a floor, a door, a place with your things in it. Abstract reassurance does very little for you and always has. Knowing that means you can stop trying to fix an unsettled feeling with plans and money, and go and fix something about where you actually live instead.
Your body reads the building
Light, air, noise and the material of a place affect you more than they affect other people, and the effects are physical: sleep, appetite, a heaviness that lifts within days of moving somewhere better. This is not sensitivity in a vague sense. Treating the condition of your housing as a health question, and spending accordingly, is entirely rational here.
Few people come in, and they stay for hours
You do not have people over often and when you do it is substantial: a long meal, an afternoon, nothing brief. The house is not a public space and never will be. That suits you and it means several friendships have thinned for lack of occasions. Two fixed dates a year, decided in advance, is enough to hold them without changing how you live.
The house is the balance sheet
A disproportionate share of what you own is in where you live, which is unfashionable advice and entirely consistent with how safety registers for you. It also means your finances and your home cannot be separated in a crisis. Holding a genuinely liquid reserve alongside it, small but untouchable, is the one hedge that fits without asking you to change the strategy.
