You can name the day you became management at home
There was a point, probably too early, when the household's practical weight became yours. Capricorn holding the tail in the House of Home puts the sign of duty and standing into the room that is supposed to be off duty, and the two have never been reconciled.
That is the tension the page is about. Home was where responsibility was learned rather than where it was set down, so the place everybody else uses for recovery has always been the place you are most on.
The reflex is to run it as an operation

The people you live with assume you like being in charge, because you have never given them a reason to think otherwise. Offers of help were declined efficiently often enough that they stopped arriving some years ago. From their position the arrangement looks entirely chosen, and from yours it has never once been discussed with anybody.
Ask the household one question
Cancer occupies the opposite point, in the arena of what you are known for, and here it asks for the softer half at home: being looked after in the place you have been running. Put a question out loud that you have never asked — what would you like to take over from me. Then accept the first answer without amending it.
You have been the structure, not a member
The house is where your family's obligations turned physical: the property maintained, the bills carried, the arrangements that keep everybody housed. You have been the structure rather than somebody living inside it. Spend a whole visit contributing nothing structural — no repairs noticed, no logistics improved, no advice about the boiler. Presence with no function attached is what that room has never had from you.
The private half is still waiting
Your public capability is well established and the domestic, unstructured, unproductive part of life has been running on whatever was left over. That is not an accident of scheduling; it is what the pattern does. Give one evening a week to something at home with no output attached. It will feel like waste for about a month.
Work is easier than an evening with nothing in it
When domestic life gets uncomfortable, a professional obligation appears and takes precedence, and it is always genuinely necessary work. That legitimacy is exactly what makes the pattern impossible to catch. Notice which weeks the extra commitments arrive in and what was happening at home beforehand. The timing tells you considerably more than the workload does.
Nobody drops in
Your home runs on arrangements rather than on visits: things are planned, prepared and executed, and the unannounced caller is not really part of the model. It is orderly and it removes the casual layer entirely. Let one person come round with no notice and no preparation. The unprepared version is the point.
The place that never signals off duty
Because home carries obligation rather than release, your system has no location associated with standing down, which is why rest is unusually ineffective for you. Sleep happens and recovery does not quite. Create one domestic ritual that means the day is over — the same thing, at the same time, every night. The signal is what you are missing.
