They are not incurious, they are working from what you gave them. Give one person the unedited version, once, since the isolation you feel is being manufactured by the editing.
You took it on and told nobody
The responsibility for somebody in your family became yours quietly, without any discussion, and most of the people around you do not know that it exists. Carrying it invisibly has been part of how you carry it. Tell one person outside the situation what you are actually doing, since a duty that nobody knows about cannot be shared even when somebody would willingly share it.
Responsibility taken on without a title
Somewhere in your working life you have assumed responsibility for something that is not formally yours, and you have been discharging it faithfully for years without anybody granting you the authority to go with it. Nobody would notice if you stopped until it failed. Ask for the mandate in writing this year, since carrying the liability without the standing is an arrangement that only ends badly.
