Try treating one thing you enjoy as though it were work. With the North Node in Capricorn in the 5th house, pleasure is supposed to acquire standards: practice, structure, an output somebody could assess. You need one enjoyable thing you are getting demonstrably better at.
Enjoyment has been protected from any kind of demand, on the theory that a demand would ruin it. What it has actually been protected from is becoming any good.
Standards feel like they will spoil the fun
Applying discipline to something you do for pleasure sounds like turning it into another obligation, and you have avoided it on those grounds for years. The opposite happens. Competence is where the deeper enjoyment lives, and it is only reachable through the unfun middle. Give one pursuit real practice for six months.
Practise the boring part on purpose
Start with the least enjoyable component of something you love — the scales, the drills, the technique, the fundamentals everybody skips. Twenty minutes at a time, three times a week. That component is what separates people who enjoy a thing from people who can actually do it well, and it has never once appeared on your schedule.
Somebody who will tell you it is not good yet
Your creative feedback comes from people who are kind, which is pleasant and useless. Find one person qualified to be critical and then ask them properly, in writing if that helps. The first assessment is uncomfortable for an afternoon and does more for the work than a year of encouragement from people who love you.
Enjoyment that produced something
What accumulates is a body of work rather than a set of nice afternoons: things finished to a standard, skills that visibly improved, a record you can look back through. Pleasure that produces no output leaves nothing behind at all, which is a fine way for some people to live and is not what this position is for.
Take the courtship seriously
Romance here goes wrong through informality: nothing planned, nothing declared, everything left to how the evening happens to feel. Structure is romantic in this arena. Book something properly, turn up on time, do what you said you would do. Reliability in courtship is rarer than charm and it is what people actually stay for.
Make something that outlasts the mood
The things you have enjoyed have mostly evaporated: afternoons, phases, enthusiasms with nothing left over. Choose one of them and produce something durable from it — a finished piece, a documented collection, a skill at a demonstrable level. Enjoyment that leaves evidence behind is what this position converts into a life you can actually review.
Turn up for the thing you signed up to
Your recreational commitments are the first to go when a week gets difficult, because they are supposed to be fun and fun is optional. That is precisely why nothing has ever developed. Attend the class, the team, the group on the days you do not feel like it. Consistency is what makes leisure produce anything.
Teach a child something properly
What you offer children is affection and permission, and both of those are genuinely valuable. What is missing is instruction: teaching one thing carefully, correcting it, expecting it to be done well. Children remember the adult who took them seriously enough to hold a standard. Pick one skill and teach it properly across a year.
A practice, not a mood
Anything physical you enjoy currently happens when you feel like it, which produces bursts and long gaps and no progression at all. Put one enjoyable physical thing on a fixed schedule for three months. The enjoyment survives the scheduling perfectly well, and what appears alongside it is improvement you can actually measure.
