People adjust to whatever version of you arrives. Give them the accommodating one and they will happily plan around it for years. Catch it at the drafting stage. If a message is on its way asking what people think, answer the question yourself first, then send it as information rather than as an application.

Most of what you have been calling identity is a set of arrangements — roles taken because they fitted, opinions held because the room held them. Here the long project is a self that shows up before the explanation does: a face, a taste, a refusal. Keep a running list of things you chose against advice, and read it whenever you cannot remember what you are like.

Movement started for your own reasons — not a plan somebody handed you — clears it faster than rest does. Pick the exercise you actually like and do it early, before the day fills up with other people's requests.
Say what you want before you find out what they want
Close relationships here ask for the un-negotiated first move: the invitation extended without checking whether it is convenient, the desire named before it has been made reasonable. Your habit is to arrive already adjusted, which is comfortable and slightly hollow for both of you. Say the raw version once — I want to see you Thursday — and let them answer a real person.
Money that begins with you deciding
Earning improves when you initiate rather than apply: the rate you name first, the invoice sent without apology, the work you began and then found a buyer for. Your leak is agreeing to terms that were offered in order to be negotiated. Before the next money conversation, write the number you actually want on a scrap of paper, then open with it.
