Join something and stay in the back row. With the North Node in Aquarius in the 11th house, both ends of the axis ask for the same move: being one of many, working on something whose success is not about you. You need one group where nobody is watching you.
The South Node sits in Leo in the 5th house, so even your pleasures have been performed. A doubled assignment removes the alternative: there is no other arena in which to practise being unremarkable.
Do the part nobody will see
Start with the unglamorous share of a collective effort: the setting up, the clearing away, the spreadsheet, the shift nobody wanted. Take it for a full season without ever mentioning it to anybody. The exercise is contributing in a form that produces no reflected light, which you have almost never done. Six months is the unit here.
Peers rather than an audience
The people in your groups are currently arranged around your energy, which is why none of them has ever properly disagreed with you in front of the others. Find a room where you are the least senior person present and stay in it for a year. Being outranked is the specific experience missing.
Anonymity is not disappearance
You will fear that being one of many means becoming nobody, and that fear has organised a great deal of your life. What actually happens is that you become one of a small number of people who can work in either mode. The visible version remains available; it simply stops being the only one.
The group turns you into its face
The retreat is often the group's idea rather than yours: they need somebody to represent them and you are obviously the best at it, so within a year you are the public face and the position has reassembled itself. Decline once. Suggest somebody else and support them properly when they do it badly.
Be one of the group, not its centre
In any circle you occupy the same position by default, and everybody including you has stopped noticing it happen. Attend a group for six months and never once be the person who decides where everybody is going. It is duller and it is the only way you will find out what those people are actually like.
A future that does not have you in it
The long project available here is contribution to a state of affairs you will not be present for: a structure, a body of knowledge, a change that lands after your involvement ends. Nothing about it pays back in your lifetime. Choose one and work on it anyway; that choice is the whole assignment.
Serve the field rather than your position
Professionally you have advanced your own standing, effectively and continuously, for years. Spend one year advancing the field instead: the standard nobody owns, the resource everybody uses, the problem that is not yours to solve. It pays badly in the short run and it changes who you are to the people who matter.
Let the household be part of something wider
Your family life is a self-contained unit that appears at gatherings and returns home again, connected to nothing in particular. Attach it to something: a neighbourhood, a cause, a group the whole household belongs to. Children and adults both do better inside a family that has a visible place in something larger than itself.
Shared effort costs less than solo effort
Carrying things alone is your default and it prices everything at your own capacity, which shows up as intermittent exhaustion. Working alongside people distributes the load in a way that is physically measurable. Join one thing where the work is genuinely shared and compare your energy across a season. The difference is not small.
