Build the network for other people

Introduce two people to each other every month with no involvement of your own afterwards. A network you are not the hub of is more useful to everybody, including you, and considerably harder to build.
Being the visible one is a load
Carrying a public position personally means every setback is yours and every week is performed, which costs more than the work itself ever does. Distributing the visibility distributes the load. Share one public duty properly this year and notice what happens to your sleep in the month afterwards. The relief is usually immediate.
Structure the money to outlast the role
Your income depends on occupying a position, which means it stops when the position does and there is nothing standing behind it. Build one asset that pays independently of what you currently hold: equity, a licence, something owned rather than occupied. Positions end, and this arena will eventually test whether anything else exists.
