Work has to be part of the answer to how to live
You cannot hold work and meaning in separate compartments the way other people appear to, which is demanding and also the reason your working life has integrity. Accept that the requirement is real rather than treating it as an inability to be practical, and build a life that can carry it, including financially.

Tell them what you are doing now in one image rather than one summary, and repeat it. Repetition is what makes a moving target legible.
