Watching you choose a home tells you most of this
The place has to have somewhere to go from. A Sagittarius Moon in the 4th house needs a base rather than a fortress: light, a view, the sense that this is where you set out from rather than where you were installed. You need home to feel chosen weekly.
So a household that closes in on itself is the version that does not work here. Fixed routines, an unchanging circle, an atmosphere of settling down permanently: these produce a restlessness indoors that has nothing to do with the people involved.
Your household is unusually open
People come through: friends staying, visitors from elsewhere, somebody's cousin on a sofa for a fortnight. It makes your home interesting and generous and slightly unpredictable, and children who grow up in it acquire a broad sense of what the world contains. That is a real gift to be deliberate about rather than accidental.
You are likely to belong somewhere you were not born
The place that feels like home may be one you arrived at rather than came from, and the sense of being foreign where you started is common with this arrangement. That is not rootlessness but roots by selection, and they hold perfectly well. Build the chosen one on purpose, with the same effort other people give to inherited ones.
Leaving becomes the answer to a domestic problem
When home life is difficult, the plan appears: the move, the trip, the year elsewhere. Sometimes that is genuine judgement and sometimes it is the difficulty being outrun rather than addressed. Ask which one this is before booking anything, since the answer determines whether the next base starts clean or arrives carrying the same thing.
Stay through one whole difficult winter
The thing this arrangement has usually not experienced is a household staying together through a period nobody enjoyed. That is where a home becomes something other than a good arrangement, and it cannot be reached by moving somewhere better. Choose once to remain, and find out what is on the other side of the part you normally leave before.
The one who went
You are the one who went further away than anybody expected, and distance of that kind tends to be received at home as a verdict rather than as a life. It was not one. What closes the gap is curiosity in the other direction: asking what happened in your absence, in detail, and treating those years as worth hearing about rather than as the background to yours.
Home together, without the door being locked
You want a shared base and you want it to remain a base: separate trips, interests that go somewhere, a household that is not the entire world. A partner who reads your need for range as a lack of commitment leaves you claustrophobic within a year. Say the terms early, because they are perfectly workable and entirely unguessable.
An unchanging week shows up indoors
Where you live becomes oppressive faster than it should when nothing is planned: the same rooms, the same routine, and a restlessness that turns into poor sleep and a general heaviness. The cheapest correction is a change of scene rather than a change of house. One night elsewhere does more than a fortnight of trying to settle.
Making a home you have not left yet
Your capacity to start again anywhere is genuine and it has a cost: nothing accumulates. The long practice is depth in one place, kept through the years when somewhere else looked better, until you have a house with a history in it. The travelling will still be available. What you are building is the thing you come back to.
A household everybody passes through
Your home is a junction rather than a retreat: people arriving, staying, being fed, moving on. It is one of the more generous ways to live and it means the residents rarely get an evening to themselves. Keep some part of the week formally closed, particularly for anybody in the house who does not share your appetite for company.
