Mercury in Sagittarius in the 2nd House (House of Money)

Sagittarius says how Mercury shows up; the 2nd House says it happens in money, possessions, self-worth. Put the two together and you have the placement as it sits on a chart.

Money is the fuel, never the point

Give a Sagittarius Mercury the house of Money and resources get evaluated entirely by what they open up. An amount is not a quantity to you, it is a distance: how far it gets you, how long it buys, what it makes possible that was previously theoretical.

It is a healthy relationship to money and a poor relationship to arithmetic. The plan is usually right about the direction and roughly a third short on the figure.

The projection is always a little generous

Your forecasts assume the good version: the work lands, the client renews, nothing unexpected arrives. Each assumption is individually reasonable and together they produce a number you cannot live on. Apply one blunt correction rather than trying to be more careful — take your honest estimate, add a third to the costs, remove a quarter from the income, and plan on that. The optimism stays; the exposure goes.

You would rather have been somewhere than own something

Objects hold very little value for you and experience holds a great deal, so your money goes into trips, courses, tickets and time rather than into things that sit still. This is a real preference rather than an impulse, and it produces a good life. The only adjustment is that experience leaves no resale value, so it needs to be funded from a surplus you actually built rather than from the next payment.

The idea is worth money once it has a price

You generate genuinely valuable propositions and then hand them to somebody else to commercialise, because the conversion work bores you. That transfer has been expensive over the years. Take one idea per year all the way to a stated price and a first customer. You do not need to enjoy that part; you need to have done it once, so the pattern stops looking inevitable.

Debt buys distance and then charges for it

Borrowing feels reasonable here because the future is genuinely larger in your mind than the present, and often you are right about the future. The problem is that interest works on a calendar and conviction does not. Set an absolute ceiling on what you will owe, decided while nothing exciting is happening. It is the one financial rule worth fixing in advance, and it will not be produced in the moment.

You fund other people's beginnings

You back the friend's plan, cover the ticket, put money behind somebody's idea because you can see where it goes. That belief is a real gift and it has been given to some people who were never going to move. Give what you can lose cheerfully and say so plainly at the time, so the friendship is not carrying an unstated expectation of return.

Different beliefs about money at the same table

Your convictions about what money is for probably diverge from the ones you were raised with, and you will argue the point rather than let it pass. That is worth doing once and not annually. State the philosophy clearly, hear theirs, and then stop relitigating it. You are not going to convert them, and the relationship is worth more than winning the argument about savings.

Boring holdings are what fund the interesting life

You will never find a dull holding kept for fifteen years interesting, which is precisely why it works so well for you. Automate it entirely so that your attention is never involved. What accumulates there is what will eventually pay for the freedom you actually care about, and it needs none of your enthusiasm to do the job.

Sell the horizon, price the delivery

You describe where something could go so well that people buy on the strength of it, and then the invoice reflects the ordinary work rather than the vision. Separate them. Charge for the direction-setting as its own service with its own fee, and let execution be priced separately or handed on. Your most valuable hour is the first one and it is currently the cheapest.
