Meaning arrives without an argument
The 9th house is where your Pisces Mercury spends its day, and what it produces there is conviction without a chain of reasoning behind it. You know that something is true about how life works and you cannot construct the case for it.
That is not a weaker form of belief. It is a different route to one, and your track record is good — but it does leave you unable to defend in conversation the things you are most certain of.
You learn by being immersed in it
A subject enters you through atmosphere rather than through structure: the time spent in the country, the years around the practice, the sense of how it works absorbed long before you could explain a single principle. What that produces is genuine understanding with no scaffolding underneath. Add one page of fundamentals after each immersion, so that what you absorbed becomes something you can deliberately use.
Travel dissolves rather than informs you
Being somewhere unfamiliar affects you more deeply than it affects most people: the assumptions loosen, the sense of who you are becomes negotiable, and you come back altered rather than educated. That is genuinely valuable and it is also destabilising. Go, and build a return — the routine, the person, the thing waiting — because the coming back is the half that completes it.
The words arrive well after the knowing
You will understand something for years before you can say it, and then find the sentence unexpectedly, in the middle of doing something else. Nothing about that process can be hurried. Write in the interval rather than waiting for clarity — bad prose about a half-formed conviction is how the formed version eventually appears, and no amount of thinking about it does the same work.
You absorb the certainty of whoever is nearest
In the presence of somebody with a strong worldview, you take on their conviction and mistake it for your own, sometimes for years. That permeability is why you should choose your teachers with unusual care. Give any large decision a solitude quarantine: several days away from persuasive voices, and notice which position is still there when nobody is transmitting.
Teaching is where the vagueness becomes the gift
In front of somebody learning a difficult thing, your inability to be brisk turns into patience, and your habit of sensing exactly where a person is stuck is the entire skill. That is a specific vocation rather than a fallback position. Aim at instruction, pastoral work or anything where the person matters more than the syllabus, and let somebody else write the curriculum and keep the register.
People bring you the questions they cannot ask
The large unanswerable subjects arrive at you — what it was all for, whether anything continues, what somebody should do — because you can sit with them without needing to resolve anything. That is a rare and demanding service. Notice what it costs you, and arrange somewhere to put down what you have picked up before you carry it home for a fortnight.
You want somebody who does not need it explained
What you are looking for is a person who understands the thing you cannot articulate, without requiring the argument first. When you find it, the relief is enormous. What still has to happen is the ordinary explicit part — the request, the plan, the disagreement said out loud — because being understood at the deep level does not cover the administrative one.
You will not sell what you believe in
Attaching money to the things that matter most to you feels like a contamination, so those stay unpaid while you earn from something you care about less. That is a genuine position and it has costs you may not have counted. Test it once: charge properly for the work you would do anyway, and see whether the meaning actually degrades or whether that was a fear rather than an observation.
