Volume is what you are built for
The 6th house is where your Gemini Mercury spends its day, and it spends it on many things at once: the messages, the small tasks, the six items that each take four minutes. You handle a quantity of separate demands that would flatten most people.
What you cannot do is one long uninterrupted thing. The problem is never workload, it is duration, and knowing which of the two is in front of you predicts your whole week.
The long task keeps not getting started
The single deep piece of work sits on your list for weeks while forty small things get done impeccably around it. That is not procrastination in the ordinary sense; short tasks genuinely give you what long ones do not. Break the deep work into forty-minute pieces with a stated end, and treat each one as a small task. The structure is doing the work that willpower was never going to.
Your routine has to be rebuilt regularly
A system that works becomes invisible to you within a couple of months and stops being followed. This is why every productivity method you have adopted worked brilliantly and then quietly lapsed. Stop treating that as failure. Plan on a new arrangement every quarter, keep whichever two pieces survived from the last one, and let the rest be replaced without guilt.
You are the reason everyone knows what is happening
At work you circulate information constantly: the update passed on, the person told what they needed, the connection made between two teams who were not speaking. Almost none of it is in your job description and a fair amount of the organisation runs on it. Say so during any conversation about your role, because otherwise it is genuinely invisible in every formal account of what you do.
The wiring is doing the physical work here
Your body reports on your nervous system rather than on your exertion: hands that will not settle, a jaw that has been working since morning, sleep that arrives late because the day is still running. Effort does not tire you and input does. Reduce what arrives rather than trying to rest more; that is the lever that actually moves in this position.
You know everybody in the building
Across a workplace you have a light, warm connection with people in every department, formed out of small exchanges rather than shared projects. It makes you extraordinarily effective at getting things done and it takes real time you are not credited for. Notice how much of your week goes into it and treat that as work rather than as a break from work.
One thing done properly, at least once
A working life made entirely of short tasks leaves you competent and slightly unsatisfied, because nothing accumulated into anything. That dissatisfaction is real information rather than a mood. Give one piece of work a year the long treatment. It will be uncomfortable throughout and it is the only way this position produces something you can point at.
Several small income lines, none of them tidy
Your earning tends to come from an assortment: the main work plus the occasional extra plus something seasonal. It is genuinely resilient and it is administratively chaotic, which is where the money actually leaks. Spend one afternoon a quarter on the paperwork alone. The amount recovered from unclaimed and untracked things reliably exceeds what the afternoon cost.
Talking all day is physical work
Days spent in conversation leave you as flattened as heavy labour would, and you rarely count them as effort because nothing was lifted. The signals are a dry throat, an inability to settle in the evening and a strange tiredness with nothing attached. Book quiet between the meetings rather than after the day, and treat silence as recovery rather than as an empty slot.
