Twenty years in, and still in the same building
The same desk, or the same trade, or the same name on the door for longer than anybody else lasted. Mars in Taurus in the 10th house builds public standing through duration: you are known for having been there, done it consistently, and never once dropped the thing you were carrying.
The sign supplies effort that does not fluctuate and the house makes that visible to people who keep records. So your reputation is not built on any single achievement, which is why it is nearly impossible to damage and why it took considerably longer than everyone else's to arrive.

Anchor to the craft rather than to the arrangement, because the craft survives every reorganisation and the arrangement never does.
The climb you started deliberately
You chose the direction early and have not revisited it since, which is efficient and occasionally dangerous. Everything about your temperament will keep you ascending whichever slope you set out on. Re-survey once a decade in writing: is this still the summit you picked, and does the person at the top of it have a life you recognise as yours.
Recognition offered late, and slightly awkwardly
Because you never asked, the acknowledgement arrives long after it was earned and usually from somebody who has just realised. You will be tempted to wave it away. Take it properly instead, and say what it took. Your discomfort with being praised is the main reason it has been so rare, and that is the one part of this you control.
Leave a trade, never leave the craft
Every year you spend on the same underlying skill widens a gap that only becomes visible after a decade. Employers, titles and industries can all change without cost. What you cannot afford is restarting the substance, because the compounding is the only mechanism working in your favour and it begins again from zero each time you switch.
Being reliable is not the same as being known
People know what you do and remarkably little about who you are, because the record has been doing all the talking for twenty years. That was a workable arrangement while the work was the point. Decide now whether you want the second thing, and if you do, it will take deliberate effort of a sort you have never once put into this area.
The colleague relationships that outlived the job
You keep people. Former colleagues from three roles ago still call, because you were the one who stayed in touch without any particular purpose. That network is genuinely valuable and you have never once used it. Ask somebody for something this year. It is not a transaction; it is how the connection stays two-directional.
The job that paid for everybody else's options
Your steadiness at work has funded choices for other people: the education, the house, the year somebody could afford to be uncertain. Much of that has never been said out loud in either direction. It does not need gratitude and it does need acknowledging as a decision you made rather than a fact of nature, particularly by you.
Thirty years of the same posture
The identical seat, the identical load, the identical movement repeated across decades produces an accumulation that no individual week accounts for. Your capacity to work through discomfort means the first several years of it pass without comment. Book the assessment while nothing has failed, and change one physical thing about how the job is done. Small permanent adjustments are the method that suits you in every other area anyway.
