When a choice will leave somebody unhappy you postpone it, gather more views, and hope for a version that pleases everyone. Notice when the last few months were entirely logistical. Book something with no purpose in it, since the drift here is gradual and never announces itself.

Reputations of your kind accumulate without much steering, and it is possible to be widely respected for something you never intended to be known for. Ask what you would want said about your work at the end of it. The answer usually requires a change of direction rather than more effort, which is why it is worth asking early.

The evenness you show professionally continues at home, and your family may never have heard you take a firm position about anything concerning them. That neutrality can feel like distance. Say what you actually think about one family matter this year, since being fair to everybody is not the same as being present for anybody.

A tense office affects you physically whether or not the tension involves you, and you will keep working in one for years while attributing the fatigue elsewhere. Treat the environment as a health factor. Changing the room, the team or the arrangement does more for you than any amount of individual effort at coping with it.
Fields where judgement and fairness are the product
Law, mediation, design, curation, human resources, diplomacy, client relations: work where somebody has to weigh things and be trusted to have weighed them properly. In roles built on force or speed you will be permanently slightly wrong for the job. Move toward the version that pays for balance, since that is what you actually supply.
