The daily work has to be worth signing
Your taste is Leo-bright and it is spent on the working day, so you cannot do a job you are not a little proud of. The task itself may be small; what matters is that it is done well enough to put your name to.
You will take twice as long to reach that standard, which is why anonymous, interchangeable work drains you so specifically. It is not the effort you object to but the absence of authorship, and a role where nobody could tell your output from anybody else's will lose you within a year however secure it is.
Generous with colleagues, and remembered for it
You bring things in, cover for people, praise the junior member in front of the senior one. Working with you is noticeably pleasanter than working with most, and people carry that impression for years afterwards. Let some of it come back. Ask for help occasionally, since the person who is always giving is assumed never to need any.
Standards that are yours rather than the organisation's
You hold a personal line about quality that frequently exceeds what anybody is paying for, and you will not lower it even when told to. That is why your work is good and why you are sometimes considered slow. Choose where to apply it deliberately. Applied everywhere it is unsustainable; applied to the visible things it builds a reputation quickly.
The body responds to enjoyment, not discipline
Regimes based on grim persistence last about a month with you. What actually works is something you look forward to, ideally with people, ideally with some flair to it. Stop trying to acquire a temperament you do not have and choose the version that appeals, because the enjoyable one is the only kind you have ever kept up.
Being unappreciated at work goes deep
A manager who does not notice what you do will lose you eventually, and the departure often surprises them because nothing was ever said. Say it earlier and plainly: that recognition matters to you and its absence is a working condition rather than a mood. Most managers will supply it once asked, having never suspected it was missing.
Devotion delivered as everyday effort
You look after a partner in visible practical ways and you would like that noticed, which is not a small or vain thing to want. Say what you did rather than waiting to be caught doing it. Silent service followed by resentment is the one pattern here that reliably ends well-matched relationships for no good reason.
Craft, and being known for it
The satisfaction available here is being genuinely excellent at something ordinary and having that recognised by people who know the difference. It takes years and it is very durable. Pick the thing and let it be visible: enter it, show it, teach it, since work of this kind that nobody ever sees stops being sustaining somewhere in the second decade.
You run the household to a standard
Domestic tasks are done properly in your house and there is a right way to do them, which is yours. That produces a home people enjoy being in and a certain amount of friction with whoever else lives there. Praise their version out loud when they attempt it, even when it is nothing like how you would have done it, since being corrected is the reason nobody in your house ever offers twice.
Credit, or you will not stay
Attribution is the term that matters most in any role you take. Being named on the work, thanked in the meeting, associated publicly with the result: without these your performance drops regardless of pay. Negotiate for them explicitly at the start, since asking for credit afterwards is far harder and reads considerably worse.
Rest has to be enjoyable to happen at all
You will not take a dull day off. Recovery that involves lying still and doing nothing is unappealing enough that you simply keep working instead, and then wonder why you are depleted. Book a restful thing you actually want to do. The rest happens as a side effect, which is the only mechanism that has ever worked for you.
