You choose a partner the way you choose a fight
What you love runs Aries-hot and it goes to work in the 7th house, so partnership is where the heat lands. You want somebody with edges, who answers back, who is visibly a person rather than an arrangement. Agreeable company puts you to sleep within a month.
Commitment happens fast here too. You decide about somebody early, say so, and then spend years justifying a call you made in a fortnight. The remarkable part is how often the call was right; the expensive part is the times you defended it long after you knew.
The proposal, in whatever form, comes from you
Somebody has to say the defining sentence and it is almost always you: the move-in suggested, the label named, the future described out loud before either of you was ready. Partners find this thrilling and occasionally like being handed a moving train. Ask one question before the announcement. It costs a moment and it turns your decision into a shared one.
A relationship needs a contest in it
Long partnership stays alive for you when there is something to push against: a game, a real disagreement, a project with two opinions in it. Peace maintained by nobody saying anything reads to you as an ending in slow motion. Choose the friction deliberately, in small forms, or your instincts will find something worse to have the argument about.
Your partner ends up carrying your boldness
A curious pattern shows up here: you are drawn to people who do the confronting for you, and then find yourself irritated by exactly that. What is happening is that a piece of your own nerve has been handed over. Take some of it back on purpose. Say one difficult thing a month yourself, and watch how quickly the irritation stops being about them.
Reconciliation is faster than the row
You can be furious at nine and finished with it by eleven, and you assume everybody else clears at the same rate. They do not. Give the other person until the following day before checking whether it is over, and do not read their slower recovery as a longer grudge. Most of your worst hours come from re-opening a wound you had already stopped feeling.
Wanting them out loud is the maintenance
The relationship keeps its temperature when desire is stated rather than assumed. You do assume it, because you said it clearly once and consider the matter settled. It is not settled for the person listening. A specific sentence, said fresh, about wanting this particular person, does more for a long partnership than any amount of reliable presence on its own.
Best friends are the ones who fight fair
The people who last in your life are the ones who can take a straight sentence and give one back. Anybody who goes quiet and stores it up will eventually be dropped, usually without a conversation. Say that condition out loud early in a friendship. It sounds blunt and it saves both of you years of a slow, polite disappointment.
You work well with one strong counterpart
Professionally you do your best work paired with somebody who is genuinely your equal and not remotely your echo. Committees dilute you and solo work removes the thing you are reacting to. Look for the two-person arrangement: a co-founder, a partner, a permanent opposite number. That structure gets more out of you than any title ever has.
Joint money moves faster than joint agreement
You commit shared funds at your own speed, which works beautifully until the other person finds out afterwards. The fix is not consultation about everything, which would exhaust you both. Set a figure above which nothing moves without a conversation, agree it while things are calm, and let everything under it stay as fast as you like.
Learning to be met rather than to conquer
The practice here is being an equal instead of a victor. You are so good at pursuit that being simply chosen, calmly, by somebody standing still, is unfamiliar enough to feel like nothing is happening. Stay in that room anyway. The relationships that change you are the ones where you did not have to win anything to be kept.
