Uranus in Scorpio in the 11th House (House of Community)

Scorpio says how Uranus shows up; the 11th House says it happens in friends, community, future visions. Put the two together and you have the placement as it sits on a chart.

The friendships are few and nothing about them is casual

The Scorpio half of this belongs to a whole span of birth years and takes the lid off what is not discussed; the eleventh house, decided by your birth hour, is what applies it to friendship and community.

Conversations inside that circle go where other people's do not, and what passes for loyalty in it is closer to something sworn than to anything assumed. There is no shallow end available. That is the whole subject of this page, along with the entire category of ordinary company it puts out of reach.

You know what is actually going on in people's lives

The friends you have tell you things they tell nobody, and you hold an accurate picture of several lives that other people only see the surface of. It is a privileged position and a heavy one. Being deliberate about how much you take on, rather than receiving whatever arrives, is the only limit that will ever exist here.

Nothing between total commitment and nothing

There is no setting for pleasant acquaintance, so a great many perfectly good people never got past a first meeting and your social life is thinner than it needs to be. The filter is not entirely conscious. Keeping two or three light connections alive, without going anywhere near depth, is worth the effort because deep friendships have to come from somewhere.

Read as guarded, running on selection

People conclude you are closed off. What is actually happening is that you have decided about them fairly quickly and are not going to spend effort on somebody you have filed as unlikely. The verdict is usually accurate and occasionally premature. Giving one person a second meeting after a poor first one is worth doing purely as a check on the mechanism.

The people who saw you at the worst of it

There are one or two people who were present during something you would not describe to anybody else, and the bond that produced cannot be manufactured or replaced. It is the most valuable thing in your social life and it is entirely accidental in origin. Being deliberate about keeping those particular people in contact, ahead of anybody more convenient, is worth doing on purpose rather than trusting to circumstance.

Groups feel your absence more than your presence

You are not the loudest person in any room and things change when you are not there, because the depth you supply is what made the group worth attending. Nobody can name it. That is worth knowing when you assume you are peripheral, which you are consistently and wrongly inclined to do.

You are practising trust rather than loyalty

Loyalty you have in abundance and it costs you nothing; trust — handing somebody something they could use against you — is the part that has never been easy. The two are frequently confused, including by you. Giving one person something genuinely usable, and watching them not use it, is the actual practice and it takes years rather than an evening.

Your allies are worth more than your network

You do not have contacts in any conventional sense; you have a handful of people who would act for you without being asked. That is worth considerably more than a wide list and it is invisible on any assessment. Maintaining those few, deliberately and during periods when nothing is needed, is the whole of your professional insurance.

A partner has to be admitted to the inner circle

Somebody close to you is either fully inside the small group of people you are honest with or they are permanently outside it, and there is no gradual admission. Most partners do not know the test is running. Saying explicitly what being inside means, and what it would take, is fairer than letting somebody spend two years guessing.

What you hope for has a figure attached

Your ambitions for the future are unusually concrete about money, not because you want a great deal of it but because you have worked out precisely what would make you unreachable by anybody. The number exists and you have never told a soul. Checking whether it is still the right number, given that you probably set it during a bad period, is a short exercise worth doing every few years.
