The brief reads: build a base, then keep the door open
The Sagittarius half of this belongs to a whole span of birth years and refuses any finished version of the truth; the fourth house is the personal half, decided by the hour you were born, which is why the refusing happens at home.
If it had a brief it would read: establish somewhere properly, live in it fully, and never let it become the only place you could live. That is a genuine way to run a life and it is not the same as being unable to settle, though it is routinely mistaken for it.
More than one place has counted as home
You have probably had a base in more than one region or country, or spent long enough elsewhere that returning felt like returning. Neither place is the fallback. That plurality shows up in small ways — several sets of things, a language you half keep, an idea of ordinary life that borrows from more than one model — and it is the actual shape of your domestic history.
The cost of not being from anywhere
Belonging partially in several places means being fully at home in none, and the loss is real: the shared references, the person who knew you at fifteen, the sense of a place having you in it. Nobody warns you about that part. Keeping one relationship going in each place, over decades, is what converts a set of former addresses into somewhere you can actually return to.
Read as detached, running on range
Family read your leaving as not caring, and the reading has been hard to dislodge because you did in fact go. What was happening was that staying would have closed something you could not afford to close. Saying what leaving was for, rather than defending the fact of it, is a different conversation and one people can actually receive.
A home you can carry
What builds here is a set of things that make anywhere home within a week: a routine, some objects, a way of finding the two or three people worth knowing in any new place. It is a genuine skill and completely invisible on any record of your life. Naming the components makes them repeatable rather than accidental, which matters the next time you land somewhere cold.
You brought back things they did not ask for
Every time you came back you carried something the household had no use for: a different way of doing things, an opinion formed elsewhere, a comparison nobody wanted drawn. It was offered as riches and received as criticism of the life they had. The material was good and the delivery was hopeless. Bringing back something purely practical and useful instead, with no implied lesson in it, is received completely differently and is worth trying twice.
The question of where you are from stays open
You will never have a clean answer to it and you have stopped expecting one, which is more resolved than most people manage with the same circumstances. The remaining work is not to settle the question but to stop treating the openness as unfinished business. It is the answer, and it has been for a long time.
A partner has to accept the geography
Any relationship here eventually meets the question of where you will live, and it is rarely a simple negotiation because more than one place has a claim. Pretending otherwise at the beginning does not help. Raising the geography early, as a fact about you rather than a preference, saves the version of this conversation that happens four years in with a lease involved.
Friends scattered across time zones
Your closest people are frequently a long way away, which makes for a rich set of connections and a thin week-to-week social life. The two are related and only one of them is fixable. Building something local that requires you to turn up regularly, whatever it is, is the correction, and it will feel like a poor substitute for about two months.
Owning property does not settle the question
You may buy somewhere expecting it to conclude the matter of where you belong, and it will not, because the restlessness is not a housing problem. That does not make it a bad purchase. Deciding what the property is actually for — an asset, a base, somewhere to return to — before buying it prevents a fairly expensive form of disappointment.
