A private conviction is not really available to you; the moment something persuades you, you start persuading other people. You teach with warmth rather than with rigour
Put you in front of a group and the subject becomes interesting, because your enthusiasm is doing most of the work. People remember your explanations for years without necessarily remembering the details. That is a genuine gift and it needs a check attached: make sure the material is right before the delivery makes it convincing, since your conviction is persuasive regardless.
The journey that becomes a story
Your travelling has narrative shape: the long trip, the pilgrimage, the year abroad, told afterwards with a beginning and an end. That is not embellishment so much as how you experience it. People join because you are visibly delighted
Your enthusiasm recruits: friends end up at your lecture, on your trip, reading your book, mostly because your pleasure in it was infectious. That influence is real and it is worth using with care. Extend the same energy to somebody else's passion once in a while and let them be the expert for an evening.
The one who went further than expected
Education, travel or a change of worldview often puts distance between you and the household you came from, and the distance can be read as judgement. It usually is not. Go back with genuine curiosity about what they think rather than with news about what you have learned, and the gap narrows considerably.
Spending on the large gesture
Your discretionary money goes to journeys, courses and causes, in generous amounts and often decided in a single enthusiastic evening. Those are good uses of income and they benefit from a rule. Set an annual figure for the grand plans, and let the enthusiasm choose freely within it rather than deciding the size each time.
