How much of that exchange were you decoding?
Ask it about the last real conversation you had. Somewhere underneath the words you were tracking why they said it, what they left out and what they wanted. Scorpio on the tail in the House of Communication means that second track has been running in every exchange for as long as you can remember.
It grew up in this room because knowing what was really going on kept you safe when the surface was unreliable. The reading is often correct and it is exhausting, and it means the plain surface of a sentence has almost never been taken at face value.
What the second track can do
You spot the evasion, the rehearsed answer, the question that was really a test. In negotiations, interviews and difficult meetings you know what is happening well before it becomes visible. People who work with you learn to trust your reading of a room even when they cannot see what you are seeing. This arrived without instruction.
The signal is a message you have read nine times
Watch for the short reply you keep returning to, extracting tone from punctuation. Occasionally there is something there. Usually the sender was in a hurry. When ordinary messages routinely require analysis, the instrument has stopped protecting you and started generating the threats it was built to detect, and the evidence it produces always looks convincing from the inside.
Your quiet is loud to other people
You withhold rather than volunteer, so an ordinary pause from you reads as significant. Colleagues replay their last remark; neighbours wonder what they said. None of this is intended and all of it is caused by a consistent absence of small, meaningless communication. Filler talk, which you regard as pointless, is what tells people nothing is wrong.
Leave a stretch of time genuinely empty
Taurus holds the far end, in the territory of the wider frame, where the material is a plain surface accepted as a plain surface. Take an afternoon with no exchange in it at all — no messages, no analysis of anything anyone said. The point is not rest. It is a few hours in which the decoding apparatus has nothing to work on and switches off.
Ordinary chat feels like a waste and it is not
Small talk seems to you like an empty transaction, so you skip it, and the local relationships that run on it never quite form. The neighbours you have known for a decade remain strangers with a nodding acquaintance. Spend five minutes on nothing this week with somebody nearby. Meaningless exchange is the medium local ties are actually built from.
What you know and never say
You hold a large amount of accurate information about the people around you that you have never mentioned to anyone, including them. Discretion is a real virtue and this quantity of it is a kind of solitude. Say one thing you have noticed, kindly, to the person concerned. Observation shared becomes a relationship; observation stored stays a burden.
The exchange your partner never gets to have
You know what your partner meant before they finish, which is efficient and occasionally means they never get to explain themselves. Being read that accurately is a mixed experience: it feels like intimacy and it also removes their say. Ask instead of concluding, once a day, even when you are certain. Certainty is the thing to spend here.
The one who knows what is not said
In your family there is material nobody discusses, and you have always been able to see it clearly. You were probably reading the adults accurately at an age when nobody assumed you could. That knowledge has kept you separate ever since. Name one thing gently to one relative. Precision is not required; acknowledgement is the whole of it.
Vigilance has a resting cost
Continuous low-level assessment of your surroundings is metabolically expensive, and because it never turns off you have no baseline to compare it with. Tiredness that does not respond to sleep is often this. Practise a deliberate ten minutes daily where you stop scanning entirely. The difference in how your body feels afterwards is the measurement.
