The doubling matters because it removes the friction that teaches most people to slow down. Nothing about talking, learning or connecting has ever been difficult for you, so the question of what any of it is for has simply never come up.
Under pressure, another angle appears
When a conversation gets heavy the move is lateral: a related idea, a counter-example, something genuinely interesting that changes the temperature. It works every time and it is not evasion in any deliberate sense. It is the nearest tool, reached for so fast that the heavy thing never gets to finish arriving.
What the speed spends
Because everything can be picked up quickly, nothing has ever needed to be sat with. Your knowledge is broad, current and structurally shallow — dozens of subjects held at the level where you can talk about them and none at the level where you could be usefully wrong. That second level is where anything actually gets built.
They think you are following easily
You can keep pace with anyone, which people read as understanding, and often it is. Sometimes it is pattern-matching at speed with nothing underneath it. Tell one relative your own news first, before you pass on anyone else's. Being the subject occasionally is the missing half.
