What the outsider's view produces
You can see the structural problem that everybody inside has normalised, and you will say it without needing the room's approval. That combination is genuinely scarce and it is why your assessment is worth more than that of people with better information. Several bad decisions have been avoided because you were unbothered by disagreement.
They conclude you do not want it
Decision-makers allocate roles to people who appear to want them, and nothing in your presentation has ever suggested that you do. Nobody is withholding anything from you. Have lunch with the same three people every quarter for two years and let it be uneventful. Advancement travels through familiarity far more reliably than through respect.
The schedule was never a real constraint
You resist externally imposed structure on principle, which means your working hours follow interest rather than any rhythm a body could reasonably adapt to over time. The result is genuine unpredictability in your energy, which everybody including you reads as temperament. Impose one fixed structure on yourself and keep it for a season. Self-imposed structure is still structure and the body cannot tell the difference.
The title was refused along with the terms
You have declined titles, seniority markers and formal progression as a matter of taste, and the refusals were sincere rather than strategic. They also removed you from every conversation where resources get allocated, since those rooms are entered by rank. Accept one formal position you would normally wave away. The label costs nothing and it opens a door that argument cannot.
