You improved the system before anyone explained it
By the time anybody got round to explaining the procedure to you, you had already found the two places it went wrong. Saturn in Virgo in the 6th house puts the sign into the house it governs, so method and daily work become a single subject with no second arena to spill into.
Everything this placement concerns — routine, accuracy, service, the body — is concentrated in one place, which produces exceptional competence in the ordinary and no relief from it. The working day is where your standards live, and there is no part of it you have agreed to leave alone.
The fear is the one thing that got missed
What keeps you checking is not a general anxiety but a specific image: the single overlooked item that causes real damage later, traceable to you. It is why you verify things twice and why finishing something never quite feels finished. The fear has an excellent record of prevention and a very poor record of prediction.
It comes due when the standard has to drop
The test is a period where good work is not possible: too much volume, a deadline that cannot move, a situation where adequate is the only available option. Producing something you know is merely acceptable costs you more than a long week of proper work. Do it anyway, and note afterwards what actually went wrong, which is usually nothing.
Keep a record of what you prevented
Your contribution is largely negative in form — errors caught, problems that did not happen, the thing that would have gone wrong. None of it leaves a trace, and your own memory keeps only the misses. Write down each catch as it happens, since at review time there is otherwise nothing whatsoever to point at.
Mastery of the ordinary day
What this builds is command over the thing most people never get on top of: a working life that runs, a body that is maintained, systems that do not fall over. It is genuinely uncommon and entirely unglamorous. The one thing to add is a definition of finished, because without one this becomes a job that never closes.
Becoming the person who designs the process
There is a large difference between the specialist who fixes errors and the one whose method prevents them, and only the second gets authority. You are already doing the second and describing it as the first. Write your method down, name it, and teach it to two people, because that is the specific step that changes what you are paid for.
Good enough is a standard, not a surrender
You treat adequate as the beginning of a slope, so every task gets taken past the point of usefulness. Deciding in advance what finished means for each piece of work is the whole practice here, and it has to be decided before starting, since at the end you will always find another improvement available.
Colleagues rely on you and do not know you
You are the reliable one, consulted constantly about work and almost never about anything else, and after years in a place people can be surprised to learn basic facts about your life. That distance was constructed by usefulness. Volunteer one non-work sentence a week and the category you occupy shifts within a couple of months.
You are paid for the role, not for the improvements
Over the years you have made the operation substantially more efficient, and none of that has appeared in your compensation because it was never itemised as work. Quantify one improvement in money terms and take it into your next pay conversation, since a saving with a figure attached is the only version anybody acts on.
You run the household's logistics too
The domestic systems — appointments, supplies, the maintenance schedule nobody else knows exists — are yours, and they run so well that their existence is invisible to everyone living there. Stop one of them for a fortnight without announcing it. The resulting conversation is more useful than any amount of explaining what you do.
