Easy to be around and hard to reach
People who have known you for years would say you are easy to be around and hard to reach. With the North Node in Leo in the 7th house, the growth is being warmly, specifically present to one person at a time. You need one relationship where you are unmistakably invested.
Detachment has kept every bond even and slightly cool. What is being asked for is partiality — treating one person as more important than the general principle of fairness.
Preference is not unfairness
You will resist singling anybody out on the grounds that it is not equitable, and equity is a genuine value. It is also the wrong instrument here. Relationships run on being chosen, repeatedly and visibly. Treating one person as special does not take anything from anybody else; nobody else was in the running.
Say why it is them
Start with the plainest possible declaration: tell one person what specifically you value about them, in detail rather than in general. Then make a decision in their favour that costs you something. Both are statements of preference, and preference is the currency this arena runs on. Neither takes more than a minute, and both feel considerably larger from inside than they look from outside.
A partner who knows they were chosen
What accumulates is a bond with no ambiguity in it: the other person knows where they stand, so the relationship stops spending energy on reassurance and starts spending it on everything else. Ambiguity is expensive and you have been paying for it for years without noticing the charge. Certainty costs less to maintain and it is considerably warmer to live inside.
Making it about the principle again
The retreat is to widen: the personal disagreement becomes a discussion of what is reasonable in general, the request becomes a question of precedent, the feeling becomes a position. It is impressive and it removes both of you from the room. When you notice the argument going abstract, say what you actually want instead.
Be adoring and let yourself be adored
Warmth in a couple has been carefully rationed here — appreciation implied rather than said, admiration kept private in case it seemed excessive. Say the extravagant thing once, out loud, and let them say theirs back without deflecting it. Relationships at this address run on visible enthusiasm and quietly starve without it.
One person at a time
You are good in groups and thin in pairs: the room is handled, the individual is not. Take one friend somewhere with nobody else present and stay for two hours. Undivided attention is the specific thing you have been withholding, mostly without meaning to, and it is what turns an acquaintance into a friend.
A life recorded in who you chose
Look back and the turning points are all people you decided to put first: the person you moved for, the collaborator you backed, the one you stayed with when it was inconvenient. Those decisions were authorship rather than accident. Make the next one deliberately instead of letting circumstance select for you, and write down the date you did.
Show up as a person to your counterparts
In negotiations, client work and partnerships you present as reasonable, neutral and hard to read, which produces fair outcomes and no allegiance. Add some warmth and some position: say what you want, express real enthusiasm for their work, be somebody rather than a party to an agreement. People choose the person they enjoyed dealing with, and they do it long before they compare the terms.
Marriage wants a favourite
The fairness you apply at home — everybody treated the same, nobody prioritised — quietly leaves your partner ranked alongside everybody else. They notice. Make it explicit once: say that they come first, and then show it in a decision this month. Being somebody's priority is the arrangement this arena is built for.
