Fine, then not fine, and nobody can say why
Every few months the same conversation happens: money is fine, then it is not, and nobody can say why. With the North Node in Capricorn in the 2nd house, resources are supposed to be built by structure rather than by circumstance. You need one financial arrangement that runs whatever the month is like.
Being provided for, rescued or carried has been available often enough that you have never had to build the machinery yourself. The absence is structural rather than a matter of effort.
Automate one thing and stop deciding
Start with a single standing arrangement: a fixed sum leaving on a fixed date into something you cannot easily reach. No decision required each month, because the deciding is where your finances currently fail. Set it small enough that a bad month does not break it, and then leave it entirely alone for a year.
Structure feels cold applied to money
Budgets and fixed arrangements read as unfeeling here — as though a life should not be run to a plan. In practice the plan is what removes the anxiety that has been colouring everything else. Try one month on a structure rather than on judgement, and notice how much emotional weight comes off the subject.
A floor you built rather than received
What accumulates is a specific kind of confidence: knowing the base under you is one you made and nobody can withdraw. Support from others is genuine and it always carries a small dependence with it. The difference shows up in what you are willing to risk, and it arrives within about two years of building.
Somebody will help if it goes wrong
The retreat is the safety net: a family that would step in, a partner who earns, an arrangement that has always caught you. Because it exists, the structure never gets built. Act for one year as though the net is not there, without announcing it to anybody, and see what you construct in its absence.
Know the plan, not just the balance
You can say roughly what you have and nothing at all about where it is going, because there has never been a plan longer than the current situation. Write a five-year version this month: what accumulates, at what rate, for what purpose. Direction is what turns money from a mood into an instrument.
Self-respect from having provided
There is a particular steadiness that comes from having built your own base, and it is not available from being loved, supported or reassured. You have plenty of the second kind and almost none of the first. Build one thing entirely yourself this year, at whatever scale is realistic, and notice what it does.
Price the work, not the relationship
Your rates here are set by how you feel about the person paying: friends get discounts, difficult clients get quotes, and none of it relates to the work. Set one figure that applies to everybody for a year. The relational pricing feels generous and it has been the largest single leak in your income.
Put the body on the budget
Dental work, glasses, physiotherapy, shoes that actually fit — these are the items that get postponed because they compete with everything urgent and nothing is enforcing them. Give the body a fixed annual line in the budget and spend it whether or not anything currently hurts. Scheduled maintenance costs a fraction of what deferred maintenance costs.
Stop being the one who is looked after
There is probably an arrangement where family support flows toward you, and it has run so long that neither side would know how to end it. Reduce it deliberately by one step this year and say that you are doing so. The dependence is comfortable, and it is quietly the reason nothing has been built.
