Drawn in, arranged around you, and eventually resentful
The same pattern repeats: somebody is drawn to you, arranges themselves around you, and eventually resents it. With the North Node in Aquarius in the 7th house, partnership is supposed to be between equals. You need one relationship in which nobody is orbiting anybody.
Being the compelling one has never been a plan; it simply happens, and the other person adjusts. Equality has to be arranged deliberately here or the old shape reassembles inside a year.
Equality is not the absence of feeling
You will read a peer relationship as a cooler one — less charge, less devotion, less of the thing you actually enjoy. Those are separable. What drops away is the imbalance rather than the warmth, and what replaces it is a partner who argues with you, which turns out to be more interesting than adoration.
Let them win one that matters
Start with a decision of real consequence where their judgement prevails and yours does not, and then support it properly rather than waiting to be proved right. One such decision a season is enough. Nothing rebalances a relationship faster than being visibly overruled on something you cared about and living with the result.
A partnership with two centres
What accumulates is a relationship neither person is managing: separate friendships, separate interests, decisions made in both directions, and nobody quietly organising their year around the other. It looks a good deal less romantic from outside, and it is the version that survives twenty years without one person in it going gradually quiet.
Charming your way past the disagreement
The retreat is persuasion: an actual conflict appears and you resolve it with warmth, humour and momentum rather than by conceding anything at all. Everybody feels good and the substance has not moved an inch. Notice when an argument ends because you were entertaining. Go back to the subject the next day, unarmed.
Be friends as well as a couple
Your relationships run on attraction and attention, both of which fluctuate, and rarely on the plain liking that carries a couple through the flat years. Do something together with no romance in it at all: a project, a class, an ordinary shared interest neither of you is performing. Friendship inside a relationship is the structural component you have been missing.
Have friends who are not admirers
Look at your circle and ask who genuinely argues with you. If the answer is nobody, the group has been selected for people who enjoy what you offer rather than for equals. Deliberately keep two people who disagree with you regularly. They are less pleasant and they are the only ones who will tell you anything.
Being known beats being admired
The long shift here is from being impressive to being accurately understood, which is a considerable downgrade in immediate reward and the only route to actually being close to anybody. Ask one person to describe you honestly, including the unflattering parts, and do not correct any of it. That description is the starting point.
Partners rather than followers
Professionally you attract people who want to work under your energy, which is efficient and means nobody has ever properly challenged a plan. Take on one genuine peer: equal stake, equal say, right of veto. The work gets slower and noticeably better, and you find out which of your instincts were actually right.
Let a partner outrank the audience
When there are other people present, your attention goes to the room and your partner becomes a spectator at their own evening. They have noticed and have probably stopped mentioning it. Check where your attention actually is at the next gathering, and then give the person you arrived with a genuine half hour of it, in front of everybody.
