Most people want an account that reassures, you want the accurate one
A Scorpio Moon in the 9th house has no appetite for the comforting version. What you look for in any philosophy, religion or explanation is whether it holds up against the worst thing you have seen, and anything that only works in good conditions is discarded immediately.
That produces convictions of unusual weight. What you believe has been through something, which is why you can say it quietly and people take it seriously, and why you have very little patience with positions that have never been tested.
You look for what an account leaves out
Given a doctrine, a national story or a confident explanation, your attention goes straight to the omission: who benefits from this version, what has been left out, which question is not being asked. That instinct is uncomfortable in a room and correct often enough to be trusted. It is also the reason you read history the way you do.
Travel takes you towards the real place
You are not interested in the version prepared for visitors. Somewhere unfamiliar, you find the ordinary streets, the actual conditions, the people who are not performing for anybody, and the trips you remember are the ones where you saw something the itinerary did not include. That instinct also makes you a poor tourist and an excellent guest, since the people who live somewhere can tell which of the two has arrived.
Nothing is allowed to be simply true
The same scrutiny that protects you from bad ideas can prevent you from holding any, so a life can be lived in permanent examination with nothing ever quite accepted. Some things are what they appear to be. Notice when you are interrogating something that has never given you a reason for suspicion.
Let one thing stand without being proved
Take something you find plausible and stop testing it for a year: an idea, a person, a way of understanding what happened to you. The point is not credulity but rest, since a mind that examines everything continuously is doing a great deal of work that has stopped producing anything. Nothing is lost by the pause, since anything genuinely unsound will show itself without your assistance.
What you believe was arrived at the hard way
Whatever you hold to be true about how things work came out of something you actually went through, which is why it is unshakeable and why you cannot explain it in a sentence. That is a genuine philosophy. Say some of it out loud occasionally, since it is more useful to other people than you assume.
Fields where the tidy version is not enough
You are pulled towards subjects where the official account is not the whole account, and the pull is emotional well before it is intellectual: something in you cannot settle around a version that has been smoothed. Archive work, law, long study of a tradition and its underside, any field that rewards patience with buried material. The requirement is a subject you can afford to be unpopular about, because when the smoothed version is asked of you, your interest dies rather than complies.
A few people who have also seen something
Your closest friendships tend to be with people who have been through something serious, because the conversation can start where it actually is rather than several polite stages earlier. That is a narrow filter and a sound one. Let one lighter friendship exist anyway, since not everything has to be load-bearing. An hour of ordinary company is worth having occasionally, and it does not have to be justified by depth.
You did not accept the official version
The family's account of itself, its history and what happened did not survive your attention, and you probably worked out the real shape of it young. That knowledge sat alone for a long time. Ask one relative now what they understood, since the version you assembled as a child was necessarily incomplete.
Suspicious of anything that requires trust
Anything that asks you to trust somebody you cannot assess gets refused, and at a distance that covers most of what is on offer. Those refusals have saved you real money and closed a few doors that were genuinely open. Where you do want in, the investigation has to be your own: a recommendation from a person you rate is precisely the thing that fails to transfer here, because what cannot be delegated is the judging itself.
