You knew what they meant before the sentence finished
Somebody starts explaining and you have already understood, usually correctly, occasionally not. A Pisces Moon in the 3rd house takes in the whole atmosphere of a conversation rather than its content, so what reaches you is impression rather than information. You need to check what was actually said.
Speaking works the other way round. What you mean is entirely clear inside you and arrives approximate, so people receive a version that is warm, slightly vague, and missing the specific thing you were most sure of.
Your voice does the work the words do not
Pace, softness and an absence of pressure make people settle while you are talking, which matters more than accuracy in most of the moments that count. Anyone frightened, embarrassed or newly in trouble does better with you than with someone more precise. It is a real capability and worth putting somewhere it can be used.
Images arrive where explanations were requested
Asked how something works you reach for a comparison, a picture, a story about something else entirely, and it lands better than a definition would have. This is genuine skill in teaching, writing and anything requiring somebody to feel what a thing is like. Keep it, and notice that it fails badly wherever exact instructions are needed.
The detail was there and now it is not
Times, amounts, the specific thing agreed: these dissolve within hours here, and you will remember the tone of a conversation perfectly and its content only in outline. It is not carelessness and no amount of trying harder repairs it. Write things down during rather than after, since afterwards there is already nothing to write.
Say it out loud, badly, before it drifts
Thoughts that stay inside your head lose their edges, so the way to keep one is to give it words while it is still there, to a person or a page or a recording. It will come out clumsier than it felt. That is the trade, and a clumsy version that exists beats an elegant one that has gone.
Held in mind more than in contact
You think about people constantly and message them a fraction as often, so friends can feel neglected by somebody who has been quietly attending to them for months. The gap is entirely mechanical. Send the thought when you have it, in whatever half-formed state, because the version you are waiting to compose properly is not going to arrive.
The one who heard what was underneath
With siblings and close relatives you registered the unspoken part of every exchange, and you probably still translate for people who have never noticed they are being translated for. It is generous work. Consider handing back one interpretation this year by letting two relatives misunderstand each other and sort it out themselves.
Paid for making people feel understood
Counselling, care, teaching the struggling, writing that has to reach somebody rather than inform them: your instinct for what a person can hear is the actual product. Where the work is administrative and exact you will underperform against your ability. Choose roles by what they measure, since precision and empathy are not rewarded in the same places.
The unsaid is where the relationship lives
You expect to be understood without explaining, and you extend the same generosity to a partner, which produces long stretches of genuine closeness punctuated by occasional serious misreadings. Say the explicit version of one thing a week, chosen in advance. It feels redundant to you and it is the only version a good many people are able to receive.
Getting it out of your head and into the world
A great deal happens inside you that never acquires a form: the idea, the observation, the thing you would say if it were properly worked out. The long practice is finishing the rough version rather than waiting for the good one. What exists imperfectly can be improved; what stays internal simply fades on schedule.
