You do the whole job or none of it
The Scorpio half of your Mercury runs the 6th house, so ordinary work gets the full treatment: the thing investigated to the bottom, the process understood entirely, the task nobody wanted taken on because it was the interesting one.
There is no partial setting available. Work that only requires a competent surface pass is genuinely hard for you to do, and you will either transform it into something deeper or resent it.
You see what is failing before anybody says so
The project that will not deliver, the colleague who has already decided to leave, the number that does not reconcile — you register these early and with unusual accuracy. Raising them is the difficult part, because an accurate warning delivered too directly gets treated as disloyalty. Bring it as a question with evidence attached, early, and to one person rather than to a room.
Colleagues tell you things and it stays with you
You end up holding a great deal of what people at work have said in confidence, because your discretion is genuinely reliable and everybody has worked that out. It is a position of real trust and it accumulates weight. Notice how much you are carrying, and that carrying it is a form of unpaid labour nobody has ever described to you as such.
Politics is visible to you whether you engage or not
The power map of any workplace resolves for you within weeks: who actually decides, what the stated reason was covering, which alliance is temporary. Most colleagues never see it. You can use it, ignore it or be disgusted by it, and all three are available — but pretending you cannot see it is not, and trying to costs you more than participating would.
The work becomes the thing you disappear into
When something else in your life is difficult, you go further into the task rather than away from it, and the work genuinely improves while you do. It is an effective and expensive method, because nothing outside the job gets attended to for the duration. The tell is unusually good output during a period you would rather not talk about, which is a pattern worth learning to recognise in yourself before somebody else names it for you.
Two colleagues you would actually defend
Your working relationships sort into a small number of genuine alliances and a large field of professional courtesy, with almost nothing between. The people who cleared your verification get complete loyalty. Everybody else gets correctness. Let one or two more across the line over the years, because the alliances are what make a workplace survivable and your criteria are exceptionally strict.
Ordinary days are not beneath you
You are built for the difficult stretch and you can be curiously lost in an easy one, since a routine with no problem in it offers your mind nothing to work on. That is worth naming, because it explains a pattern of leaving good situations. Learn to be unoccupied without treating it as a failure of the situation.
You know what your work is worth to them
You can see the value your labour generates and precisely what share of it reaches you, and the gap tends to sit badly. That clarity is an advantage if it is converted into a negotiation rather than a grievance. Ask on the basis of what you produce rather than what you deserve, at the moment the value is most visible, and be prepared to leave.
The project you disappeared into sends a bill
Long stretches of total absorption produce output nobody else could match and a body that was never consulted: meals skipped without noticing, an evening that ended at two, a fortnight of sleep traded for a deadline. The bill arrives after the project closes rather than during it, which is why you never connect the two. Put the recovery into the project plan itself, because you will not decide to take it once the work is finished.
