Traditional astrology calls Mercury weak in this sign, on the grounds that it prefers detail and finds none here; our reading is that it operates differently rather than badly. You will not be the person with the figures, and you will be the one who saw where it was all going.
Where the detail actually goes
The claim about this placement is that the specifics fall out, and in practice they do: the date, the caveat, the exact figure inside a broadly accurate account. That is a real cost and it is not a defect of intelligence. Attach one detail-minded person to any project where you are the direction, permanently, and the entire objection to this position disappears.
You have to go there yourself
Second-hand knowledge does very little for you. The subject becomes real once you have been in the country, argued with somebody inside the field, or done the thing badly yourself, and then it is yours permanently. Arrange your learning around going rather than reading, and stop treating the unread pile as evidence of anything about you.

Write it down in one sentence. Whatever survives being stated plainly on paper is genuinely yours; the parts that look strange once written were absorbed from somewhere rather than chosen, and they have been steering considerably more than you would guess.
