A belief has to bear weight
Mercury moves through Capricorn and reports to your 9th house, so ideas about how to live get evaluated structurally: will this hold under pressure, what does it require, what happens to somebody who actually organises a life around it.
That strips out most of what is fashionable and leaves you with a small number of positions that have survived real testing. It also means genuinely useful ideas get discarded for arriving in an unserious form.
Education is a ladder with rungs
You learn vocationally: the qualification obtained, the standard reached, the credential that means something to somebody. Study with no destination attached strikes you as an indulgence. That produces real expertise on a schedule and rules out entire fields learned only for their own sake. Take one subject a decade with no career value whatsoever, precisely because it fails your usual test.
You go somewhere for a reason
Travel here has a purpose attached: the work, the course, the thing being investigated. Wandering with no object feels like an expensive way of doing nothing. That focus means you know places properly rather than superficially. Allow one journey with no justification at all, and notice that the objection you have to it is a philosophical position rather than a practical one.
Authority is earned, and you check
Before you accept anybody as worth listening to on a large question, you want to know what they have actually built, survived or done. Credentials without a record impress you not at all. That scepticism is well founded and it can exclude somebody with genuine insight and no obvious track. Ask what the idea explains rather than what the person has achieved, at least occasionally.
Your convictions are older than you think
Much of what you believe about effort, worth and how life works was installed early, by a specific set of circumstances, and it has been operating ever since as though it were the structure of reality. It is worth pulling one out and examining where it came from. Some of it you will keep for excellent reasons, and some was a survival arrangement that has outlived the situation.
You will fund the qualification, not the trip
Spending on education, credentials and anything with a demonstrable return is easy for you; spending on experience with no output attached is nearly impossible. The first is a good policy and the second is a gap. Set an annual figure for the unjustifiable category and treat it as compulsory. It will never pass your own review, which is precisely why it needs to be exempt from one.
What it is all supposed to add up to
You have been building steadily toward something you may never have explicitly named, and the absence of a stated destination means no arrival is possible. Write down what the whole structure is for, in one paragraph, and be honest if the answer is inherited. That single document changes more here than any amount of further effort.
The long game is your actual advantage
In any field where reputation accumulates over decades — academia, law, a profession with a slow ladder — you are unusually well equipped, because you will still be there when faster people have moved on. Choose the field for that property rather than for its current excitement, and let the compounding do the work that ambition does for other people.
You keep the people who take something seriously
The people who stay in your life are the ones with a discipline of their own, somebody serious about something, and it honestly does not matter what. Company without that wears through in a couple of years and you rarely notice it going. Say the standard out loud instead of drifting off in silence, since drifting reads as coldness from the other side and the actual criterion is entirely respectable.
