The heat goes into work that most people would do carelessly
Everything wholehearted in you gets spent on the routine. Mars in Leo in the 6th house sends a temperament that wants to be proud of things into the part of life made of tasks, so the ordinary job gets done to a standard nobody asked for and nobody else would have reached.
The sign is why the standard is a matter of self-respect and the house is why it applies to unglamorous material. That produces exceptional work in places nobody was watching, and a specific frustration, since the arena you are magnificent in is the one nobody hands out recognition for.
The task has to be worth your name
Given something you consider beneath you, the work stalls, and no amount of professionalism fixes it. Given the same task with your ownership attached and a visible outcome, it gets done superbly. The lever is authorship: find the angle that makes the dull item yours, add something to it nobody required, and claim the result out loud.
Colleagues are the audience, whether they know it or not
You work harder when somebody competent is watching, and your output changes measurably between teams that notice and teams that do not. That is not a weakness to be corrected, it is a condition to be arranged. Choose employers with visible standards and colleagues you respect, and treat a workplace with no witnesses as a genuine risk.
Corrected in front of people, twice as expensive
A criticism delivered privately lands as information and the same criticism in a meeting lands as an injury that takes a fortnight to clear. This is worth telling a manager plainly rather than expecting them to guess. Ask for feedback one to one, in advance, and most of the difficulty in your working relationships disappears.
Working long past the point of usefulness
You will keep going to preserve the standard rather than to finish the job, and the last twenty per cent regularly costs more than the first eighty. Somebody has to decide when adequate is finished, and it is not going to be you in the moment. Set the stopping condition in writing before you begin, and honour it.
Routine that is beneath you will not survive
Any regimen that feels drab gets abandoned regardless of how sensible it is, and the ones that feel like something a serious person does get kept for years. Take that seriously when choosing: the equipment you like, the place you enjoy being, the thing you would tell somebody you do. The vanity is the mechanism that produces the consistency.
Make the standard visible before somebody else claims it
The quality you enforce is largely invisible, because prevented problems leave no evidence and good work looks like nothing happening. Document the standard, teach it, put your name on the process. Otherwise the team's reliability becomes an ambient fact about the department rather than an achievement anybody can trace to a person.
The colleague everybody wants on the project
You are pleasant, generous with credit inside a team and genuinely good company through a hard quarter, which is why the requests keep arriving. It is worth knowing that popularity is not protection: the people asking for you are not the ones deciding your workload. Say no to one thing a quarter and watch nothing bad happen.
Doing it well is its own answer
There has probably been a suspicion that your particular work is too ordinary to be the thing your life is about. The craft you have built in it says otherwise, and the standard you hold is not a smaller achievement for being applied to unremarkable material. Judge it by what it took rather than by what it looks like from outside.
Charge for the standard, not the hours
What you deliver is meaningfully better than the market rate assumes and you have been pricing it by time. Move to pricing by outcome, or simply raise it and let the least appreciative clients leave. The ones who stay are the ones who could always see the difference, and they are the ones worth having.
