Nothing you believe was adopted quickly
Nothing in your worldview arrived in a hurry. Mars in Capricorn in the 9th house builds convictions the way you build everything: slowly, from things that held up under pressure, until what remains is a structure rather than a set of opinions.
The sign is why the process took years and the house is why it concerns the largest questions. That gives your positions unusual solidity and one particular cost, since a structure this well built is genuinely difficult to modify and you have not had much practice at trying.
The qualification taken the long way
Your education tends to be formal, lengthy and undertaken alongside everything else: the degree completed in evenings, the certification pursued across four years, the thing finished a decade after it was begun. Nothing about that route is impressive to watch and it produces credentials that nobody can subsequently dispute. Keep going at the pace you are going. The timescale is a feature of the method rather than a delay in it, and most of the people who started with you are no longer in the running.
Authority accepted only where it was earned
You are unimpressed by position and entirely persuaded by demonstrated competence, which makes you difficult to lead and reliable to follow once somebody has proved something. Say what would constitute proof, out loud, rather than making people guess. Most of them are willing to supply it and have no idea what you are measuring.
Revision that takes a decade
You are willing to be wrong and the process of discovering it operates on a timescale nobody watching would recognise as movement at all, since a position gets quietly reconsidered across years and is one day simply different. Because it is so slow, it is easy to mistake for rigidity by anybody who has argued with you once. Read one serious opposing account a year, at length and in good faith. It is the only input that measurably speeds any of this up.
Travel with a purpose attached
You go somewhere to do something: the course, the work, the specific thing you wanted to see. Aimless travel leaves you restless rather than restored. That is a real preference and it is worth stating when planning with people who wanted to wander. Build one hour of nothing into each trip and let that be the whole concession.
You assumed it had to be difficult
Somewhere early you concluded that anything worth having has to be paid for in hardship, and the belief has been quietly filtering your choices ever since: the harder route taken, the easier offer distrusted, the enjoyment postponed. Some of that is accurate and a good deal of it is a rule you inherited rather than tested. Take one thing this year by the straightforward route and notice whether it turns out to be worth less.
Credentials that settle the argument
In any dispute about whether you are qualified, you want the matter closed by something formal and checkable rather than by advocacy, and you have generally gone and got it. That is expensive in years and it means nobody has ever successfully questioned your standing. Where a field trades on reputation rather than paper, that instinct works against you, so pick the ones that count what you have and stop trying to convert the others.
Respect first, friendship considerably later
You form high opinions of people on evidence and warm ones only after years, so the people who admire you outnumber the people who know you by a wide margin. That order is not going to reverse itself. Accelerate one of them deliberately: pick somebody you respect and be personal with them out of sequence.
Put it in the same calendar as everything else
Anything not scheduled does not happen, and your own physical upkeep has historically been the item without a time attached to it. Treating it as a standing appointment with the same status as a work commitment is the only arrangement you will keep. Fix the slots for a whole year in one sitting, and then defend them exactly as you would defend a meeting with somebody who mattered.
Somebody who is building something too
What holds you is a partner with a project of their own, at a scale that makes sense to you, going in a direction you can respect. Shared enthusiasm matters less than shared seriousness. Say that plainly, because a person who thinks they are being assessed for interestingness will perform, and that is not what you are looking at.
