Your standing comes from being early
Jupiter enlarges whatever it stands next to, and in your 10th house it is standing next to your public position, which rests on having seen something before other people did rather than on any accumulation of seniority. Conventional advancement bores you. What this needs is a record that shows when you said it.
You are known for a position, an approach or a piece of work that was ahead of its field, and the recognition arrived some years after the contribution. That interval is structural rather than bad luck, and it is worth planning for rather than resenting.
Uncomfortable with the hierarchy you are climbing
Advancement means acquiring exactly the kind of authority you dislike being subject to, and you have declined at least one promotion on grounds you did not fully articulate. The discomfort is genuine. Decide what you would do with the position rather than whether you want the rank, since one of those questions has an answer you can act on.
The credit goes to whoever arrived second
Your work is regularly taken up, developed and attributed to somebody who came later with better timing. It has happened more than once and it is not entirely bad luck. Publish the position with a date on it, since being first is worth nothing without evidence and evidence is the only part you control.
A career that will not run in a straight line
Your record contains changes of field, gaps and moves that look inexplicable to anybody reading it in order. Each one made sense at the time. Two of the moves looked like steps backwards and were not. Write the through-line yourself, since nobody else will construct it and the sequence reads as instability until somebody supplies the logic.

Choose employers who buy outcomes rather than obedience, since you will not learn to fake it and the attempt costs you more than the honesty does.
They cannot see it as a career
What you do professionally does not resemble a career as your family understands one: the shape is wrong, the sequence is odd, the security is not visible. Their concern is genuine and it is based on the wrong template. Show them one concrete result rather than explaining the trajectory, since the evidence lands where the argument does not.
The unstructured work eats the boundaries
Because you set your own hours and your own method, nothing external tells you to stop, and the working day expands into everything else without any single decision being taken. Autonomy has no natural edges. Fix a finishing time and treat it as though somebody else had imposed it, since you will respect an external rule and never an internal one.
Ask to be measured on outcomes
Being assessed on presence, process or conformity produces terrible results from you and being assessed on what you actually delivered produces excellent ones. That difference is enormous and entirely arrangeable. Nobody has ever objected when you asked; the difficulty is remembering to ask. Negotiate the terms of assessment explicitly, since it is a request employers rarely refuse and almost nobody makes.
You were paid late for being right
The financial return on your best professional judgements arrived years after the judgements themselves, and in at least one case it went to somebody else entirely. That lag is the pattern rather than an accident. Take a stake rather than a fee where you can, since the value of what you see only materialises on a timescale that fees do not cover.
You want to change how something works
Underneath the career is a genuine intention to alter an arrangement you consider wrong, and every job has been assessed against whether it moves that forward. That is a coherent life and it is rarely stated. Write down what the arrangement is and what changing it would look like, since a purpose this large needs a definition to be steered by.
